  • What is your greatest extravagance?

A bottle of 12-year-old Macallan.  It’s not that I drink a lot, but there are days, cases even when it calls for glass after a long hard day.  My dad used to have glass of whiskey and a cigar every now and then.  I guess I picked up his habit.  I only reserve it for the hardest of days, but lately, with the cases I’ve been getting, those are getting more and more frequent.

  • What is your greatest fear?

It’s probably what every cop fears when they’re on the job – not getting to go home at the end of the day.  Back in the day, being a cop on the street was stressful; now-a-days, it’s like ten times worse.  It seems like it gets harder each day.

  • What is the trait you most deplore in others?

I guess I’m supposed to instinctively say law breakers, right?  Being a detective?  Well, that, but mostly betrayal.  When someone is deceptive and lies to create a false reality, that there is what gets me.  I value loyalty and honesty.  Violations on that level are what corrupts everything.

  • What is your most treasured possession?

You know, I don’t have one.  I really wish I was that cop that had a lucky charm as it were.  You see it in the movies; the detective takes out his grandfather’s zippo lighter or something like his dad’s watch.  Anything like that.  I don’t.  I kinda wish I did.  If I try to get that now, it’d feel forced.  Sad to say I just never found my lucky rabbit’s foot.

      • Do you have a motto? If so, what is it?

That kind of goes along with your most treasured possession.  I don’t think I have one either.  Again, I wished I had one as well.  I guess if I had to say what my personal motto was, it would be something like: Don’t be a dick.  That would solve a lot of problems in the world today I think.

      • Left or right-handed?

Right-handed.  Not that matter much these days in the world of typing everything.  I can’t remember the last time I wrote out a report verses typing it into the computer at the station.

        • Name someone in your life and tell us what you like best about them.

Well, I don’t have ‘that special someone’ in my life right now.  What I do have is my partner, Stevens.  He’s practically my constant companion these days.  He’s a great detective.  He also has a great sense of humor.  That is key most days with the crazy cases we get.  He helps balance out the insane situations we find ourselves dealing with.

        • Name someone in your life and tell us what you like least about them.

Stevens.  Sorry, I had to.  Some of his jokes are terrible.
